General Jewelry Cleaning and Care

Avoid exposure to extreme heat, chlorine, chemicals, skincare products, and sprays such as colognes and perfumes. Residue can accelerate the tarnishing of silver and damage semi-precious stones/corals.

How to Store Jewelry

Store jewelry individually in your Maui Divers Jewelry soft pouch or lined jewelry box to prevent scratches and tangling. Proper storage prevents contact with other items that might cause damage.

How to Care for Precious Metals

Sterling Silver can withstand heat but may tarnish over time when exposed to salty air, chlorine, sulfur, humidity, sweat, cosmetics, household bleach, and other strong chemicals. Use a polishing cloth to restore its shine.

Gold can withstand heat, water, and moisture exposure. To clean gold regularly, gently brush it with a soft-bristle toothbrush, warm water, and soap. It’s essential to note that, although rare, individuals may experience tarnishing of precious metals if their skin has high acidity.

Pearls and Deep-Sea Corals

Pearls and deep-sea corals are organic gems sensitive to acid and moisture. Wipe pearls with a damp, soft cloth after wearing them to remove residues. Avoid exposing them to excessive heat or direct sunlight. Regarding deep-sea corals, we recommend avoiding exposure to lotions, perfumes, water, and similar substances. Depending on the design, exposure to these instances may cause the unique design details to fade. If you need clarification or feel uncomfortable cleaning yourself regularly, you may always request cleaning and polishing for free as part of your Forever Guarantee.

Gemstones

Gemstones are delicate. Some are vulnerable to chemicals, heat, and light. Avoid exposing gemstones to household cleaners, lotions, and perfumes. Clean them gently using a soft cloth.
